Colva's main draw is its beach — a long, gently curving sweep of white sand backed by coconut palms that runs for several kilometres in each direction. The Church of Our Lady of Mercy anchors the village inland and is one of the older Baroque churches in South Goa. Away from the main entrance to the beach, the crowds thin out quickly, and quieter side-beaches like Benaulim and Varca are just a short ride south. This is primarily a beach and village destination: come to swim, sit under a palm, and slow down.
