The Badshah no Hajiro — the King's Mausoleum — holds the cenotaphs of Ahmad Shah I, the founder of Ahmedabad, beside those of his son Mahmud Shah and grandson Qutbuddin Ahmad Shah. The square sandstone tomb stands on a raised plinth behind the Jama Masjid and is decorated with marble lattice screens, brass-plated wooden doors, and a small dome. The complex is still tended by descendants of the original caretakers; non-Muslim visitors are welcome to the outer courtyard but not the inner chamber.
The tomb is across the street from Rani no Hajiro and visit naturally together; allow 15 minutes for both.
