Law Garden

Evening street market for Gujarati textiles and handicrafts

Address Law Garden, near Ellisbridge

The evening street market at Law Garden is Ahmedabad's most popular spot for picking up traditional Gujarati clothing, embroidered bags, mirror-work bedspreads, and Kutchi handicrafts. The market sets up daily around 6pm along the eastern footpath of the park and runs until about 11pm. Rows of vendors, lit by hanging bulbs, spread their wares on the pavement.

Bargain hard — expect to pay about half the quoted price. The surrounding food stalls do Gujarati street snacks well into the night, and the park itself, a 1970s public garden donated by a textile merchant, is open during the day for joggers and picnickers.
