Swati Snacks is the upmarket way to eat Gujarati street food — panki chatni, handvo, dabeli, sev khamani, methi gota — without the dust of an actual street stall. The Ellisbridge branch opens at 11am and is busy from then on, with a long bench-style dining area and a printed menu of about thirty traditional snacks. Two people can sample five or six dishes and leave for under a thousand rupees.
The original Swati is in Mumbai but Ahmedabadis treat the Law Garden Road branch as their own. Bring cash; cards accepted but slow.
