Bhuntar airport, ten kilometres south of Kullu town, has daily flights to Delhi when weather allows; mountain conditions cancel flights regularly, so plan a buffer day. The airport runway is short and famously dramatic, pinned between river and ridge.
By road, the standard approach is from Delhi via Chandigarh and Mandi — an overnight bus of about 14 hours, or two days of driving with a stopover. State and private buses use the Kullu bus stand in the centre of town. From Manali, Kullu is about 90 minutes by shared taxi.
