Vasuki Nag is a natural spring named for the serpent deity Vasuki — the naga gods associated with water and healing are venerated throughout the Himalayan foothills, and spring sites like this one are among the oldest sacred places in the region. The spring feeds a small tank or pool and is considered holy by local Hindus.
The setting is pleasant even from a purely secular perspective: the water emerges cold and clear from the hillside, the surrounding area is shaded by old trees, and the sense of calm is genuine rather than manufactured. It makes for a short and easy excursion from the town centre, and is often combined with a visit to other temples and natural sites in the immediate area.
