Sanasar is a bowl-shaped meadow 20 km east of Patnitop, formed by two villages — Sana and Sar — that give it its name. At around 2,050 metres, it sits at roughly the same elevation as Patnitop but feels more open, with wide grassy slopes that drop away on all sides. The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department runs a nine-hole golf course here, one of the few at this altitude in the region.
Sanasar is the main paragliding site in Jammu, with launches from the higher slopes above the bowl and landings in the meadow. Camps operate during the summer season (typically April to October). Horse riding and camping are also available. The setting is striking enough to justify the drive even if you're not tempted by any of the activities.
