Indiranagar is Bangalore's most popular upscale residential and commercial neighbourhood, and on weekends it is where much of the city comes to eat, drink, and shop. The main artery, 100 Feet Road, is lined with restaurants, bars, boutique shops, and bakeries, and the side streets have a mix of older houses and newer apartment blocks that gives the area a texture lacking in purely commercial districts. The tree canopy on some of the residential streets is exceptional by Bangalore standards.
The nightlife here is the most developed in the city — there is a craft brewery every few blocks, cocktail bars, wine bars, and rooftop restaurants. It is also where many of Bangalore's younger tech workers live, which means the area has a constant churn of new food concepts. It is not particularly Indian in character — you could be in any affluent urban neighbourhood in the world — but if you want a good meal and easy access to everything, Indiranagar is reliable.
