Kempegowda Museum is dedicated to Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore, and is housed in Mayo Hall. The building is part of the draw: chandeliers, stone arches, wooden floors, Tuscan columns, and period furniture give it more atmosphere than a simple city-history display.
It is a useful stop if you want to understand Bangalore before the technology boom. The upper level also gives broad views toward Ulsoor Lake, the Parade Grounds, and the old cantonment side of the city.
