Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace sits within the walls of the Bangalore Fort, originally built by Kempe Gowda in the 16th century. The two-story structure is built almost entirely of wood, with ornate pillars, arches, and balconies decorated with floral motifs. Inside, you'll find paintings depicting Tipu's military campaigns and court life.
The palace resembles the Daria Daulat Bagh in Srirangapatna and gives a good sense of the ambition and taste of the "Tiger of Mysore." Nearby within the fort walls is the well-preserved Ganapathi Temple, worth a quick visit on the same stop.
