Iruppu Falls is in the far south of Coorg near the Kerala border, set within the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. The Lakshmana Tirtha river drops in two stages from around 170 feet, the upper plunge tucked behind a rocky shelf so you only really see it on the climb up.
A 1.5km paved path climbs from the trailhead — past the small Rameshwara temple — to a viewing platform near the base of the upper fall. The water is icy and clean enough to swim; come in the morning to beat the day-trip crowds from Mysore.
