Kadri Manjunatheswara Temple sits on a low hill east of central Mangalore and is one of the city's most important Hindu shrines. The complex is especially interesting because the place carries traces of older Buddhist and Nath traditions alongside its present Shaiva worship.
The visit is as much about atmosphere as architecture: temple tanks, steps, shrines, lamps, and local families moving through their routines. It pairs well with Kudroli or St Aloysius Chapel if you want a half-day look at Mangalore's different religious layers.
