Shirsoli Lake lies about 6 km north of central Jalgaon on the Pachora road. It is a modest reservoir surrounded by low hills, worth visiting in the early morning when the light is soft and birdlife active. The lake attracts a reasonable variety of waterbirds, especially during the winter months when migratory species pass through the Tapti valley.
For most travellers, it makes a pleasant early-morning excursion before the heat sets in and before heading to Ajanta. Auto-rickshaws from the city will take you out and back for a small fare.
