Cathedral of the Holy Name

Gothic Catholic cathedral in Colaba with frescoes, stained glass, and heritage status.

The Cathedral of the Holy Name is Mumbai's Catholic cathedral and the seat of the Archbishop of Mumbai. Opened in 1905 and later given heritage status, it replaced the older Fort Chapel after the Catholic congregation outgrew that small church.

The building is Gothic in style, with twin towers, Mangalore-tiled roofs, frescoed walls, stained glass, and a carved marble altar. It is an easy architectural stop while walking through Colaba.
