Kakching is a smaller town, but it packs in a surprising variety of things to see for a place of its size. The People's Museum is the centrepiece — a serious ethnographic collection that does justice to Manipur's complex cultural heritage. Beyond it, the town's riverside garden and temple precinct at Uyok Ching make for a pleasant afternoon, and the street market scene is genuinely worth exploring.
