Pushpa Gujral Science City

A large science museum and theme park 25 kilometres west of Jalandhar on the road to Kapurthala. The campus covers 72 acres and includes a planetarium, a 3D theatre, a dinosaur park, a flight simulator, and a series of hands-on physics galleries. It is unmistakably a state-government project — the kind of edutainment complex India built across several cities in the 2000s — but it is well maintained and good for an afternoon with children.

Allow three or four hours. The planetarium shows are particularly worth catching; check the timings on arrival as they run only a few times a day. Entry is inexpensive, with extra charges for the 3D film and the simulator. Closed Mondays.
