Jalandhar is a working commercial city rather than a tourist destination — most travellers stop here only on the way to Amritsar — but there is enough to fill a day. The Devi Talab temple complex, the Sodal shrine, and the Jang-e-Azadi memorial (in nearby Kartarpur) are the main stops. Sports fans can visit the Guru Gobind Singh Stadium and the suburbs of Sansarpur, which produced more Olympic hockey players than any other village in India. Wonderland on the Lohar road is a long-standing local family destination if you have children in tow.
