When to Go

October to March is the comfortable season in Dungarpur. Days are warm but not punishing, nights are cool, and the surrounding Aravalli hills look their greenest after the monsoon. December and January nights can drop close to ten degrees.

April, May, and the first half of June are extremely hot — well above forty degrees by afternoon — and most non-essential travel pauses. The southwest monsoon (late June to September) is short and unreliable here, on the edge of the Aravalli rain shadow, but heavy storms do happen and can muddy the back roads to the Bhil villages and Beneshwar.

The single best date to aim for is the Beneshwar Fair in late January or February, when the confluence site comes alive with Bhil pilgrims for five days of ritual, music, and trade.
