Mount Abu has been the global headquarters of the Brahma Kumaris spiritual movement since 1950. The organisation, founded in 1937 in Hyderabad (Sindh), teaches a form of Raja Yoga rooted in Hindu thought but presented as a non-sectarian path; women dominate the senior teaching ranks. The campus at Madhuban runs courses for short-stay visitors, with simple accommodation and meals included. The white-domed Om Shanti Bhawan is the conference hall and the most photographed building. Even if you have no interest in the philosophy the campus is worth a stroll — orderly, quiet, and unlike anything else in Rajasthan.
