Agra is a conservative Uttar Pradesh city and is not a nightlife destination. Restaurants and rooftop cafes — especially those with a Taj view — are where you spend the evening. Alcohol is available in some restaurants and most upscale hotels, with bars open until around 11 pm; outside hotel grounds, drinks are limited.
The rooftops along Tajganj Road south of the Taj East Gate offer the closest view of the dome at sunset. Joney's Place and the cafes around Shilpgram are the usual stops.
