Allahabad (Prayagraj) is well connected by rail to Delhi (about 6–8 hours on express trains), Varanasi (about 3 hours), and Mumbai. Prayagraj Junction is the main station, centrally located in the city. The Prayagraj Airport (Bamrauli) handles domestic flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, though the selection is more limited than major hubs.
By road, Allahabad is on the main NH19 highway between Delhi and Varanasi. Buses run from Varanasi (3 hours), Lucknow (4 hours), and Agra (5 hours). During the Kumbh Mela, special trains and buses are laid on, and the city's transport infrastructure is significantly expanded.
