Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary is the easiest nature break from Santiniketan. The reserve has waterbodies, watchtowers, paths, spotted deer, blackbuck, and enough birdlife to make a quiet morning worthwhile.
It is not wilderness, but it gives the town's cultural landscape some breathing room. Go early for cooler air and better wildlife chances.
