Broken Beach

Broken Beach (Pantai Pasih Uug) is a circular lagoon enclosed by limestone cliffs and connected to the open sea through a natural arch. The blue-green water inside the arch is calm and clear; the ocean outside is often rough. You can walk along the cliff edge above and look down through the arch at the lagoon below.

Swimming is not possible here — there is no access to the water — but the walk around the rim of the formation offers some of the best clifftop scenery on the island. Manta rays occasionally circle in the lagoon. The site is right next to Angel's Billabong and most visitors combine the two in a single stop.

A story
The arch at Broken Beach was formed when the roof of a sea cave collapsed — the sea poured in and created the circular lagoon. Manta rays are sometimes visible from the arch swimming in the blue water below, having entered through the underwater passage that connects the lagoon to the open ocean.
