Massimo is a long-running Italian restaurant in the southern half of Sanur, with a kitchen run by the Neapolitan chef Massimo himself and a wood-fired pizza oven in the open kitchen. The pasta is hand-made daily, the pizza is genuinely thin-crust Neapolitan, and the in-house gelateria — proper Italian gelato artigianale, not the sweetened ice-cream — is the best on the island. Lines extend out of the gelato counter most evenings.
