Sanur has the longest-running food scene in Bali and one of the most varied. The beachfront promenade is lined with budget warungs and mid-range terraces; Jalan Danau Tamblingan, one street inland, is where the more polished restaurants are. Classic Balinese eats — babi guling, nasi campur, bebek betutu — are easy to find. The Italian, French, and Australian expat communities have left long-running outposts of their own. Avoid the loudest beachfront tourist traps; the small warungs a block back are almost always better and cheaper.
