Cangkuang Temple and Kampung Pulo

Small 8th-century Hindu temple and traditional village reached by raft across a lake.

Cangkuang is a small Hindu temple near Leles, north of Garut. Its size is modest, but its rarity matters: it is one of the few Hindu temples found in West Java.

The visit is more than the stones. You cross the lake by simple raft and also see Kampung Pulo, a traditional Sundanese village with a compact set of houses and strict local customs.
