Telaga Sunyi

Telaga Sunyi is a small natural lake set in the forest about 2 km above the main Baturraden resort, reached by a walking trail that branches off from the Lokawisata park. The walk takes 30–45 minutes through secondary montane forest, passing streams and patches of fern-covered slope, and the lake itself sits in a shallow depression surrounded by trees. The water is dark and still; the atmosphere, especially on weekday mornings, lives up to the name.

The lake is not large enough to swim in and there are no facilities beyond a couple of warungs selling drinks at the trailhead, but it makes a worthwhile extension to a Baturraden day trip for anyone who wants to escape the noise of the resort below. Combined with the walk up to Pancuran Pitu, a full circuit of the trails above Baturraden takes a comfortable half-day. Wear footwear with grip — the path is steep and the roots are slippery when wet.

A story
"Telaga Sunyi" means "quiet lake" in Javanese, and the name is well earned — the walk through forest to reach it filters out most of the weekend crowds who stay at the main resort area below.
