Eating Out

Sumedang's culinary reputation rests almost entirely on one thing: tahu, the deep-fried tofu that vendors sell from roadside stalls along the main road through town. Eating it fresh from the oil, with sambal and lontong, is the essential Sumedang experience. The rest of the eating scene is standard Indonesian town fare — warung rice dishes, mie ayam noodles, and bakso soup — which is perfectly good but unremarkable.
