Tangerang's historical interest is concentrated in the Pasar Lama district, where a cluster of old Chinese temples, a colonial-era mosque, and a heritage museum tell the story of the Peranakan community that shaped the city. The modern parts of town are mostly of interest to business travellers and residents.
