Tanjung Pesona is the most visited beach on Bangka, and with good reason. The sand is clean and white, the water is calm and clear, and there are enough facilities — resorts, restaurants, sunloungers — that you can spend a full day without having to think too hard. It sits just north of Sungailiat, about 20 km from the main resort area, and gets the gentle northeast coast conditions that make swimming comfortable most of the year.
The surrounding area has several resort hotels that make it easy to base yourself here rather than in Pangkalpinang. On weekends and Indonesian public holidays it fills up with families and domestic tourists; arrive on a weekday morning and you'll often have long stretches of sand to yourself. A handful of restaurants along the beach road serve grilled fish and cold drinks.
