The northern arm of Lagundri Bay, named for the small village strung along the shore. Sorake is where most of the surf guesthouses sit, with bamboo bungalows looking straight out onto the reef where The Point breaks. The beach itself is narrow at high tide and exposes wide reef flats at low tide, full of small fish and stranded urchins.
For non-surfers it is a good place to walk in the early morning before the heat builds, or to sit under the palms watching the long line-up. A handful of warungs serve grilled fish, mie goreng, and very strong coffee.
