The town itself is not the attraction. What draws people to Teluk Dalam is what lies just outside it: the right-hand reef break at Lagundri Bay, the megalithic stone-jumping village of Bawomataluo, and the surrounding hill villages where the old Nias culture is still visible. Most travellers stay south of town near the surf beaches and base their excursions from there.
