Nineveh is primarily an archaeological destination — the mounds of Kuyunjik and Nebi Yunus, the reconstructed city gates, and the small museum near the Nergal Gate are the main draws. The site suffered serious damage during the ISIS occupation of Mosul (2014–2017), and some reconstruction work is ongoing. Always check current access conditions before visiting.
