Nineveh is reached via Mosul, on the east bank of the Tigris. Mosul International Airport (OSM) has resumed limited domestic services since the defeat of ISIS and handles some international flights. Baghdad to Mosul by road is approximately five hours, though the security situation along the route should be verified before travel.
Most visitors arrange transport through local guides or travel agencies that have experience operating in northern Iraq. Independent travel to the Nineveh sites, while not impossible, requires careful advance planning and current knowledge of conditions on the ground.
