Museum of Underground Prisoners

The Museum of Underground Prisoners occupies a former British Mandate prison in central Jerusalem. From 1917 to 1948, the prison held ordinary inmates as well as members of Jewish underground militias, and the museum focuses on that late Mandate period.

Cells, execution rooms, and documentary displays make this a sober but worthwhile stop for visitors trying to understand the years before Israeli statehood. It works best alongside other central Jerusalem history sites rather than as a casual museum visit.
