Shinji Mizushima Manga Street is a short downtown walk lined with bronze figures from Mizushima's baseball manga. It is not a major museum, but it gives Niigata a playful local landmark and a reason to slow down between the riverfront, Furumachi, and the older shopping streets.
The statues are best treated as a quick stop while wandering the centre, especially if you know Japanese manga or want a small piece of Niigata pop culture.
