Irbid is about 80 km north of Amman, roughly 90 minutes by road. Frequent minibuses run from Amman's North Bus Station (Tabarbour) to Irbid's New Amman Bus Station; the fare is a couple of dinars. Taxis between the two cities cost around 20–25 JD and are the quickest way in or out. There is no airport in Irbid itself; the nearest is Queen Alia International, south of Amman.
