Bcharre is small and the restaurant scene is correspondingly modest, but you'll eat well — this is mountain Lebanon, with mezze, charcoal-grilled meats and trout from the Qadisha. Most places cluster around the main square.
Makhlouf is the long-running favourite for kibbeh, sajj manakish and the local arak. Tiger House does a generous mixed grill platter and has a terrace looking out over the gorge. For something lighter, the cafes on the main square serve coffee, fresh juices and pastries from the local bakery.
In the valley itself, Bauhaus at the Mar Lichaa overlook is worth the drive for the view and a long lunch of mezze and grilled meat. Prices everywhere in town are very reasonable — a full mezze meal for two with drinks rarely tops 30 USD.
