Cedars Ski Resort

Lebanon's oldest and highest ski station, above the cedar grove.

Address Cedars, Bsharri District

The Cedars station — Al Arz — is the oldest ski resort in the Middle East, founded in the 1920s and run continuously since. It sits a few kilometres above the cedar grove on the northern flank of Qornet es Saouda, with five lifts and runs topping out at about 2,870 metres. The terrain is more limited than Mzaar Kfardebian further south, but the setting is spectacular and the lift queues are short.

The resort is open roughly December to April depending on snowfall. In summer the same access road and chairlifts serve hikers heading for the high ridges and the summit of Qornet es Saouda.
