The islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Park are 15–20 minutes by speedboat from Jesselton Point — Manukan and Sapi are the most popular for snorkeling and beaches. Inland, the Mari Mari Cultural Village (35 km out) recreates traditional Sabahan tribal life with guided tours and demonstrations. For a longer excursion, Kinabalu Park is about two hours by bus and worth the trip for the mountain scenery even if you're not climbing.
