Malaysia's first interactive museum, housed in a 1928 Art Deco building that originally served as the central telephone exchange of British Malaya. The collection traces the history of telecommunications in the country from the colonial telegraph through hand-cranked switchboards to the early mobile-phone era, with a number of working exhibits to play with.
The building itself is more interesting than most of the contents — black-and-white tile floors, dark wood panelling, the original switchboard hall still intact — and is the main reason to visit. Free admission, open 9 am to 5 pm. A useful 30-minute stop while walking the colonial quarter; the entrance is on Jalan Raja Chulan, a couple of minutes from Masjid Jamek LRT station.
