The restaurant strip along Jalan Kiara and the surrounding streets of Mont Kiara is the most internationally diverse dining area in Kuala Lumpur. In a two-block radius you'll find authentic Japanese ramen and sushi bars, Korean barbecue with proper ventilation, French bistros, Spanish tapas, Mexican cantinas, and craft beer pubs. The quality is consistently higher than most KL restaurant districts because the clientele — mainly Japanese, Korean, and European expats — has specific expectations and enough alternatives to enforce standards.
Standouts include En (Japanese izakaya), Chakri Palace (Thai), and a cluster of Korean spots around the 1 Mont'Kiara mall. Prices are higher than Bangsar but lower than KLCC hotels. Reservations are advisable on weekends. Getting here requires a Grab or car — public transport doesn't reach this part of the city well.
