Alcohol is cheap on duty-free Langkawi, and the bar scene along Pantai Cenang reflects this. Several open-fronted beach bars serve cold Anchor beer at prices that feel almost illicit compared to the mainland. The strip gets lively from sundown, with the crowds peaking around 9–10pm.
For something quieter, the cafes around the Oriental Village at Teluk Burau (the cable car base) are good for coffee after a morning hike. Kuah town has a handful of cafes popular with locals but little nightlife.
