Beach lounging aside, Langkawi's best is outdoor and on the water. Ride the cable car up Gunung Machinchang to the Sky Bridge for the view across the archipelago to Thailand. Take a morning mangrove tour through Kilim Geoforest Park to watch brahminy kites dive for fish flung from the boat. Join an island-hopping boat trip to swim in the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, a freshwater lake sitting inside a limestone island. And if you can manage one early start, take the speedboat out to Pulau Payar Marine Park for the best snorkelling in the region.
