Sacred Heart Cathedral

Sacred Heart Cathedral is the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Sibu and one of the clearest reminders that Christianity has deep roots in central Sarawak. The building is modern and spacious rather than old, but it is important to the town's social landscape.

Drop in if you are already walking the centre. The cathedral is not a must-see in the way the riverfront temple is, but it adds another layer to Sibu's mix of Chinese, Indigenous, Malay, and missionary histories.
