Mörön has a small airport (MXV) with daily flights from Ulaanbaatar — about an hour and a half, the only quick way to get here. The overland alternative is a long day of driving on partially-paved road, around twelve to fourteen hours from the capital depending on conditions. Public buses run the route but take longer and are less comfortable.
From Mörön onward, the road north to Khatgal at the southern tip of Lake Khövsgöl (around 100 km) is now paved most of the way; tour operators in town will organise a shared van or a private 4×4.
