As a conservative Islamic city, Salalah has very limited options for alcohol — bars are found only in five-star hotels such as the Hilton Salalah and Crowne Plaza. The Mayfair pub at the Hilton has an English pub feel with good burgers and sports on screen; the Al Khareef Pub at the Crowne Plaza has better views of the Arabian Sea. Cafes serving Arabic coffee (qahwa with cardamom) and fresh juices are easy to find in the city center and are more representative of local life.
