Salalah Museum

Located in the Cultural Center on 23rd July Street, this is the main civic museum covering Dhofar's geography, history, and frankincense trade. Exhibits include ancient coins, clay pottery, manuscripts, and replicas of the old trade routes and caravans that connected Salalah to the wider Arab world. The natural history section covers Dhofar's distinctive geology and flora — useful context before heading into the green hills.

Free admission; open Saturday to Wednesday, 7:30am–2:30pm. Smaller and less polished than the Museum of the Frankincense Land at Al-Baleed, but worth an hour if you are interested in the region's history.
