Garam Chashma — literally "hot spring" — is a small village 45 km north-west of Chitral in the Lutkho valley, close to the Dorah Pass into Afghanistan. The springs come out at around 55°C and have been used since long before there were roads up here. There are simple bath-houses and a couple of basic guesthouses.
The drive up is half the trip: a narrow road following the Lutkho river through orchards and stone-walled villages, with views back to the Hindu Kush. The valley is also one of the best brown-trout fishing rivers in the region.
