Chitral is above all an outdoor destination. The Hindu Kush offers serious mountaineering on peaks from 6,000 to nearly 8,000 metres, while the rivers — particularly the Lutkuh — are famous for brown trout fishing. Trekking routes wind through some of the most dramatic scenery in northern Pakistan, with the Drosh-Chitral and Chitral-Shighor routes among the most popular.
